The heat transfer and fluid flow problem


An infinitely long circular cylinder of diameter D is placed in an otherwise undisturbed uniform cross flow of air as shown in the Figure below. The lateral boundary and the exit boundary in the far wake are placed at 5D and 10 to 20D from the center of the circular cylinder, respectively. The cylinder surface is maintained at a constant and uniform temperature of Ts ?400K and the free stream temperature is T?? 300K . The heat transfer and fluid flow problem will be modeled and studied under laminar and turbulent flow conditions.
