The Health Insurance Association of America describes Medicaid as a "Government Insurance Program for persons of all ages whose income and resources are insufficient to pay for Health Care." It also covers the disabled and children of our indigent population.
Instead of going through all the trouble of creating and implementing the Affordable Care Act, would you've left all people that had health insurance unaffected and untouched, but then expand Medicaid significantly to cover in addition, all the uninsured in the country?
Please explain why yes or why not and provide your reasoning. Would you now cancel the ACA and replace it with an expanded Medicaid? Please debate!
