You may address these topics from a federal, state or local government perspective; or the private sector or non governmental agency. Approved research topics are:
o The future of homeland security - an analysis of the past with a look to the future.
o An analysis of the federal response to natural and manmade disasters - NIMS and the NRF.
o The role of science and technology supporting the missions of the Department of Homeland Security.
o The challenges of protecting America's critical infrastructure.
o The challenges of securing America's cyberspace - the next battleground?
· Provide an introduction, thesis, and a summary of the topic.
· Provide three questions you want to answer or address while researching the topic for your Final Research Paper. (You do not need to answer the questions, but the questions should show the direction of your research.)
The Final Research Paper Topic assignment
· Must be 2 to 3 pages in length in APA style
· Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement. The thesis must be in both the introduction and the conclusion.
· Must use at least two scholarly sources or official government sources in addition to the course text.
