The flow pattern at the exit of a radial centrifugal

The flow pattern at the exit of a radial centrifugal compressor impeller shows a jet-wake behavior. In order to estimate the blockage, we assume that the wake region has zero momentum and is of angular extending theta (per passage) at the impeller exit. The number of impeller blades is N, and the blade thickness at the exit is t (note the blade sweep angle is zero)

Calculate:

1) geometric flow area in terms of r2, t, N, and b

2) the effective flow area in terms of theta

3) the blockage B2
