The first step in the Stork Enamine Reaction (an enamine contains an alkene functional group and an amine functional group) is the formation of a new carbon-carbon bond between the enamine and CH3X, as shown below: (NOTE, SYMBOLS ABOVE AND BELOW ARE CONNECTED BY BOND, +/- on prodcuts side is charge.
