The final project submission should include a design

The final project submission should include a design introduction writeup, an assembly drawing of your overall design and a series of detailed drawings for the 4 or more parts that you designed . Do not include the detailed drawings of the parts that you did not design.

Please export all your drawings to PDF files, and then print them together with your writeup for hardcopy submission. In order to get the drawing sheets into pdf, go to File--> Save As--> Quick export to pdf. Please submit the softcopy through the link provided here. Zip all the related files (doc., prt., dwg., pdf.) for the softcopy submission. Attached are the slides including final project requirements and examples. All examples shown in the attached PDF meet minimum requirement but they do not share the same grade.

THE WRITE UP

INCLUDE YOUR SECTION NUMBER ON FRONT PAGE. The write-up should include the topic, purpose, novelty, target market of the design, as well as the ergonomic study, material choosen, material cost, manufacturing method and cost (1-2 pages).

ASSEMBLY DRAWING

Following that is your assembly drawing. Formatted layout template is required meaning, you need to include tolerance block, and title block in the lower right hand corner. On the top of those blocks, put your parts list. Include a note saying what units you used (like cm/inches) near the bottom left corner.

Assembly drawings should include the top, front and right view of the assembed parts. Isometric view should be placed above the right view. No hidden lines should be present in the assembled drawing. All parts must be labelled with numbers which has the circles around them. The overall layout of the drawing should be exported/saved aspdf for printing. You want the drawing sheet to fit the whole paper when you print it out. Please DO NOT print screen shots.

DETAILED DRAWINGS

At least 4 non-standard parts are required for the final project. For each of the drawings, you need to include tolerance block, and title block in the lower right hand corner. Please fill your tolerance block with standard tolerance, please refer to your AutoCAD textbook Chapter 9 for standard tolerance. Include a note saying what units you used (like cm/inches) near the bottom left corner of the title block. Each detailed drawing should have the top, front and right view of the non standard pars. Isometric view should be placed above the right view.

Centerlines and hidden lines should be present. Please spread out the dimensions between the top, front and right views so that it does not look cluttered. Do not over-dimension either. Remember to put the dimensions of certain features within an object. For example you can put in 2 dimensions (distance in both vertical and horizontal from a corner using baseline dimensioning) to define the location of the hole with respect to the overall object.

The overall layout of the drawing should be exported/saved as pdf for printing. You want the drawing sheet to fit the whole paper when you print it out. Please DO NOT print screen shots.
