The fat content in milk can be measured by the extration with hexane. a 50.0g sample of whole milk was mixed with hexane and gently stirred. two liquid layers were obtained -- a lower, "milky" layer and an upper layer of hexane. the layers were separated and the mass of the milky layer was found to be 47.8g. calculate the percentage of fat in whole milk.
