Summary: A "summary" summarizes the reading or text you were assigned, in this case the article handed out in class.
The first sentence of your summary should include the name of the author of the article, the title of the article and the overall sentiment of the article. The summary should paraphrase the author's main purpose and/or opinion. Next, the summary should identify the author's assertion and research used to support his/her opinion. Be sure to wrap up your summary with a final point that links back to the opening line of the summary. (two to three paragraphs)
According to Dieter (2015) the death penalty cost is increasing as million dollars per capital punishment, and a good example is Miami death penalty in Florida that spends $3.2 million per execution and 51$ for those who commits first-degree murder. The cost has rapidly increased from 1976 to the year 2000 which shows that the increase is at $24 million, (Dieter, 2015). The increase indicates that the state has been spending much yet there is much better alternative such as life imprisonment. As the author states judges and public defendants get the same the same salary when handling all cases whether they deliver death or life imprisonment verdict. The worst is that the extra time spends on the death penalty is not calculated meaning the amount of money spend is much higher (Dieter, 2015).
