My revised thesis statement reads: "Community leaders in small towns should invest in more low-income family-oriented businesses instead of car lots and banks since those families tend to outweigh the population of the wealthy." I believe that this would follow the pathos appeal as it involves sparking someone's desire to change the current spending plans to something more productive. The audience is likely to agree with my warrant as many families struggle with their communities misappropriating funds and not being tailored to family-oriented life.
The claim is that funds should be used for more family-oriented businesses such as clothing stores, grocery stores, sit-down restaurants, and family activities. The warrant is that since there are more families in small towns, the invested community funds should reflect the needs of those families rather than the needs of the wealthy population. An argument could be made that car lots and banks bring in more revenue.
