Question: The City of Edmonton has solicited the services of a mechanical engineering consulting firm to design a heating system for a public pool located in the City. The 2006 Alberta Building Code, Division B, Section 7.3.3.9 requires that the slope of the bottom of public swimming pools be no more than 1:3. Section 7.3.3.39 of the same code also requires that the turnover period (recirculation period) of the pool water shall not exceed 4 hours. Design a heating system that is complete with one or more boiler packages. The maximum length of the piping system may be 25-50 ft from the pool.
