The cerebrum is clearly the most interesting part of the brain from the point of view of cognitive neuroscience. The cerebrum consists of highly symmetrical left and right hemispheres that seem to be functionally specialized to some degree, for instance, the left hemisphere appears to be more relevant for speech and language functions whereas the right hemisphere is more important for spatial processing and music.
