America has a longer life expectancy for its citizens currently than it has had for several decades. However, when an unexpected illness of an elderly family member happens he or she may find him or herself in a position where assistive care is needed by family members or caretakers.
Mr. Isslerfound himself in need of care beyond his capabilities when the effects of several co-morbidities presented. Jean Watson developed carative factors which are a part of the theory of transpersonal care.

· Assist with basic physical, emotional, and spiritual human needs
· Open to mystery and Allow miracles to enter (Andrews &Arnerich, n.d.)
