The book wants to know what the ground-state electron

The book wants to know what the ground-state electron configuration should be for Ag+. I understand that if you have a positive ion, that it is losing an electron, so the ground state would reflect Palladium. So shouldn't it be [Kr] 5s2 4d8? If I took off an electron, it should be 5s 4d8. But the book says it's [Kr] 5s1 4d10, taking off an electron = [Kr] 4d10.
