The Bill of rights: This is the first 10 amendments of the U.S constitution, these rights are the ones that sets the relationship for Americans and their government. The bill of rights guarantees civil rights and liberties to an individual. such things are freedom of speech, press, and religion. The 4th Amendment to the constitution is a safeguard from unreasonable search and seizures. The 5th Amendment provides that a person cannot be compelled by the government to provide incriminating information about themself, where they can stay silent and pled the fifth. The 5th amendment also protects people from double jeopardy, this is where they cannot be subject to the same crime twice. The 6th amendment provides the rights to a speedy and public trial, by a impartial jury of the state. They also provides the right to be informed of pending charges and the right to confront and to call witnesses all with the right to an attorney.

While the 4th amendment provides all these rights there are exceptions that exist, such things could be emergency or exigent circumstances are present. An example of this could be when person is reported missing, and their spouse was known for violence and has threatened to hurt them in anyway. This would let the police to search the house for the person when they did not answer the door.
