I am not understanding what is meant when this is said:
"If the diminished resources and increased risks associated with divorce are accompanied by inept parenting and sustained or increased conflict, not only between the divorced couple but also among the parents, children, and siblings, then the best choice for the children would be for an unhappy marriage to be continued."
