The beam ABCD is held in equilibrium by uniformly distributed loads of intensities q1 and q2 as shown in the figure. Find the shear force V and bending moment M at the foIlowing cross sections of the beam:

(a) cross section at point B, and

(b) cross section at midpoint of the beam. (As sume a = 1 m, b = 3 m, and q1 = 40 kN/m.)
