Is this true statement? Water is Polar covalent, yes. Covalent because neither electronegativity is strong enough to remove electrons completely from one another, so the atoms share the electrons. But their attractions are not equal and the result is that electrons spend more time orbiting one particular nucleus than the other. Since they are around one atom more often than not, one end is slightly negative and the other slightly positive making it polar.
