It has now been some 7 years since the 2008 Global Financial Crisis (GFC). Although we have averted a great depression similar to the Great Depression of the 1930s, not all is well with the current state of the global economy. Various explanations have been advanced on the underlying causes of the GFC. Critically appraise the progress of financial regulatory trends in the global financial system to address these risks.
