Teaching areas for a class using iwb software

Prepare a lesson in one of your teaching areas for a class using IWB software (i.e. Secondary students, one of your methods and primary students, one of the KLAs). If you were to teach the lesson to a class this would take approximately forty-five minutes (but students may not necessarily be at the IWB the entire lesson). You are to use ACTIVboard software (specifically ActiveInspire) and other multimedia tools such as digital sound/music, cameras, scanning, educational software, the Internet, learning objects etc. You need to demonstrate how IWB can be adapted to cater for all learning styles particularly for students with special needs. This lesson will be presented to the class during your regular tutorial and is due for submission that day (by 4pm or the end of class). Assignment 1 is individual work.

The minimum standard for the IWB flipchart is five (5) pages in a flipchart.

The minimum features embedded in your flipchart are as follows:

a) A simple container activity and/or Erase tool

b) A rub-and-reveal activity (Magic Tool)

c) Link to a multimedia object (e.g., The Learning Federation)

d) A simple container plus sound

e) A bouncing container (optional but required to obtain higher grades)

Write the lesson up in lesson plan format using NSW Syllabus Outcomes in no more than two pages. Please remember to write your name on both the flipchart and the lesson plan. Include a section on lesson reflection, i.e. questions you may ask yourself so that you can check the lesson goes well once you teach it. Your lesson plan needs to include a detailed sequence for each page of the flipchart. (That is, it needs enough detail so that someone else can pick it up and teach from it).
