The power (in watts) dissipated by a resistor is given by P = IV. The resistors used in  this experiment are 1 watt resistances i.e. they are capable of dissipating a maximum of 1 watt without overheating. What is the maximum voltage that can be put across a 1 watt, 36 W resistor?
