Healthcare executives have a responsibility to the communities they serve. Taking a leadership role in in serving the community is the responsibility of all healthcare executives regardless of occupational setting or ownership structure. When providers, individuals and communities work together, the results can be significant: healthier children, healthier adults, reduced healthcare costs, appropriate use of limited healthcare resources and, ultimately, a healthier community. Give two examples of how senior level managers in HSOs/HSs can seek to meet their responsibilities to their communities.
