Field Experience Form
For your field experience spend at least 10 hours in an early childhood setting for young children Infant/Toddler (ages 0-3), Preschool (ages 3-5), Kindergarten (ages 5-6), and Primary (ages 6-8).
Observe the student activity, physical environment, and teacher work that facilitate learning and growth within the five domains of language and literacy developmental including phonological awareness, semantic knowledge, syntactic knowledge, morphemic knowledge, and pragmatic knowledge.
• Collect information through the Observation Guide and the Question Inventory which will be submitted to the Observation Tools assignment.
Then in your Field Experience Report:
Describe literacy experiences, including ways in which the curriculum, instruction, and assessment promotes learning (both receptively and expressively) across the five interacting domains of phonological awareness, semantic knowledge, syntactic knowledge, morphemic knowledge, and pragmatic knowledge;
Provide specific examples from your observations about how this setting and analysis of how these examples align with(or does not align with) the NAEYC developmental standards for language and literacy development;
Summarize the data and interpret how a community of that promotes both receptive and expressive literacy learning is established and maintained.
