You are to summarize and critique one scholarly journal article relevant to an aspect of women in the criminal justice system. The summary and critique should be limited to two double spaced pages. The synopsis should be informative and should state the findings and conclusions. At the end of your summary, you are to conduct a critique of the article (i.e. what items were not covered in the topic that could have shed further light on the issues involved; whether you agree with the author(s) and why/why not; and what other authors have noted on the subject matter, etc.).
Each synopsis should highlight important information, including the following key items:
1) Thesis (author's purpose)
2) Literature (Prior research/theory)
3) Design (hypothesis, methods)
4) Findings (results)
5) Conclusion (implications)
