Project purpose

Faadooengineers.com is a leading website for engineering students in India, offering amongst oth-­er services, study materials and games for educational purposes. The website lists over 200,000 daily page views and has over 8 million hits and 3 million registered users.

The Faadoo group has developed 128 engineering Android Apps, which are available on Google

Play and other App stores. The EIAM Apps boasts 10 million downloads since it's launch last year.

The group now plans to launch more apps, this time in the utilities and entertainment categories.

The group is currently working on a marketing plan to launch these apps on the market and re-­quires help from a team of enterprise systems professionals, in listing some of innovative practices for a comprehensive marketing plan.

Project Description

This is an IS business project for a group of enterprise systems professionals to be completed with-­in a 12 week time frame. The client will assign a project supervisor, to whom the group will liaise on a regular fortnightly basis, informing the supervisor of the progress in achieving the project milestones. The following is a detailed description of what will be required from the project team.

Project scope

The project scope includes the following:

• A study of current apps, which offer innovative practices in the promotion of the these apps

• A listing of the types of regular apps promotions

• An identification of generating word of mouth promotions

• Identification of a series of steps to ensure a product goes viral

Study -­-

The group should:

• Study the common practices in any app promotion

• List the principles of word of mouth promotions

• Study the mechanics behind anything going viral on social media or on Apps stores

• List the comprehensive regular promotional activities that an App owner undertakes.

• List the sites where apps can be submitted for review

• List the sites which promote apps

• Identify search engine optimization (SEO) principles for an app

• Identify possible keywords and analysis from an SEO perspective

Project Outcome

At the end of the project, the group should provide the following:

• Produce a consolidated business report covering all aspects of the study undertaken

• Produce a PowerPoint presentation detailing the analysis undertaken and the subsequent recommendations

Client Advice:

Project groups should study the various reports and presentation on the above subjects. They should study the various sites for app listing and provide recommendations.

• The project group should present the data in a clean and neat format, which is easy to sort and understand

• The project group may choose various colour coding for the various sorting requirements; preferably all research variables should be presented in separate sheets for ease of use

• The project group should remember to back up sensitive data on a regular basis

• The project group should share the ongoing work with the project supervisor on a regular weekly basis

Time constraints: Should be completed within the time frame

Participants: A Maximum team size of 2 people should work on the project

Prior work experience is welcome, but not essential
