Problem:
This framework connects directly to my phenomenon of interest because caregiver confidence is the main outcome in my PICOT question. My project intervention is structured education on end-of-life symptom management, and the goal is to help caregivers feel more prepared in managing symptoms and caring for their loved ones. Weir (2025) also explained that self-efficacy plays an important role in how individuals respond to stressful situations and challenges. As caregivers become more knowledgeable and confident, they may feel less anxious and better prepared to provide care at home. I also believe this framework fits well with hospice care because hospice focuses not only on the patient, but also on supporting and educating family caregivers. Overall, the Theory of Self-Efficacy provides a strong foundation for my capstone project because it directly relates to caregiver confidence, education, and support in the home hospice setting.
