(i) Caffeine ( C8H10N4O2) -
It is 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine obtained from tea leaves (Thea sinesis) dried beans of coffee plant (Coffea arabica) & dried seeds of cacao plant (Theobroma cacoa).
It is white, crystalline, bitter alkaloid.
(ii) Cocaine (C17H21NO4) -
It is benzoylmethylecgonine, extracted from dried leaves & young twigs of the South American shrub Erythraxylon coca.
It is taken for excitement.
(iii) Crack -
It is highly potent smokable derivative of cocaine.
May cause complications such as heart and nasopharynx damage.
Crack is sold as ridged lengths called teeth or french fries.
