Stem cell research has been promoted as a future medical cure-all for a host of diseases, including Alzheimer's and diabetes, as well as a potential breakthrough for organ replacement. Yet, detractors of this scientific research argue the research, harvesting, and/or destruction of stem cells is immoral and ethically suspect.
