Statistical evidence to back up the claim

The June 2007 Consumer reports claims that there is statistical evidence to back up the claim that the herb echinace a reduces the length and severity of colds. Cold-Eeze is another medicine which makes the same claim. Explain how researchers could conduct an appropriate experiment to see if either of echinacea pills or Cold-Eeze lozenges show effectiveness in reducing the length and severity of colds, and if so, which one does it best. Assume you have 36 subjects to partake in the experiment. Use a diagram to design this.
