For your initial post, find a news article published within the last year that discusses economic inequality. If you select a different source than one listed below, remember to include a PDF of the article instead of a link to ensure your peers can view it.

In your post, summarize the article and how the article relates to economic inequality. If your news source uses academic research or government data, state the research or data that it uses and briefly describe what it means. Next, select one of the three major theoretical perspectives (Structural-Functionalist Perspective, Conflict Perspective, Symbolic Interactionist Perspective). State which perspective you have selected and how this problem would be explained by the perspective. In your response post, respond to two peers who selected a different theory than you did (you will select one peer who selected one theory and one peer who selected another). Read the article that your peer posted. Do you agree with their response on the perspective they selected? Why or why not? Which perspective do you agree with - the one you selected or the one your peer selected? Why?
