Write down an explanation of the term standard score, and describe why standard scores are preferable to raw scores. Give an illustration of a construct (depression, anxiety, intelligence and so on) one would like to measure for an individual. Describe what it would mean if the individual you assessed was -2 standard deviations below the mean, +2 standard deviations above the mean, or in between -1 and +1 standard deviations.
