Standard air is drawn from the atmosphere into a 125 m

1.Standard air is drawn from the atmosphere into a 1.25 m diameter cylindrical duct by a fan mounted inside the duct. This air is discharged down stream from the fan through a 0.6 m diameter duct at a velocity of 25 m/s and atmosphere pressure.

Assuming steady, incompressible flow, detrmine the rate of WORK done by the fan and the PREESURE drop across the fan

2.During a falling-head permeability test, the head fell from 49 to 28 cm in 4.7 min. The specimen was 8 cm in diameter and had a length of 85 mm. The area of the standpipe was 0.45 cm^2. Compute the coefficient of permeability of the soil in cm/s, m/s, and ft/d. What was the probable classification of the soil tested?
