Research Analytics - Students must be able to access and critically evaluate information on globalization available from various sources in ways that are relevant for business. In this series of assignments, students will individually demonstrate their ability to analyze a variety of online data sources on global markets and economic conditions by connecting to course concepts/theories/approaches from the readings and lectures. Consequently, do not describe the website nor engage in a research paper. By evaluating the relevance for global business, these assignments help students to build an analytical approach to country risk assessment and the wider global environment. Research Analytics 1: The KOF Index of Globalization

The KOF Index of Globalization, provided by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute, measures globalization on economic, social, and political dimensions. Provide a brief analysis (not a description) of this index and its ranking using concepts from the text readings. Specifically, how do factors considered in calculating the index reflect globalization? Why do you agree (or disagree) with this calculation? Find the most recent ranking and identify the 5 countries with the lowest and highest Globalization Index. What are the trends or similarities among the countries listed at the top and bottom?
