- Some would argue that the effects of international trade is to take jobs away from domestic workers. In other words, if a country existed in isolation, incomes would be higher and the requirement for international relations would be minimized. Others argue that by allowing other countries to produce some of our required or desired goods, we can concentrate on what the domestic country does best, resulting in everyone being better off in the long run. Who is correct and why?
