Thanks for your submission, you did well to note that: Advantages include the familiarity with the system and knowledge of fixing it quickly when there is a breakdown.

Running an aging technology also reduces the cost of operation which comes by hiring or training new personnel the operation of the advanced system. Aging technology is just good for a company which is using one technology and does not need to switch to the other to continue running.

The time and resources lost during upgrading are not experienced in the use of aging technology because the company does not need to shut down the operations to upgrade. Using one technology also maintains the customers that are not used to advanced technologies and so will be satisfied using their familiar technology than seeking advanced new one.

Some of the infrastructures still use the old technology due to the cost and even the stop of production/functioning of the industry.

Because controller stations are generally designed to perform specific tasks, they use low-cost, resource constrained microprocessors. The new technology also needs more processing power and memory, again this not being compatible with the older systems may require a complete overhaul of the system.

The older systems have their advantages in that they are made for specific systems. In case of emergencies the systems is not set up with several controlling mechanisms such as complex passwords.

The systems also could be set up on the sensors that automatically correct the issue. Another advantage is that some newer systems work on leased lines and internet which can be easily hacker than a closed system.

The disadvantage is surely the systems are not as secure and as a result, according to experts, weak passwords that are easy to guess, shared, and infrequently changed are reportedly common in control systems, including the use of default passwords or even no password at all. Your thoughts?
