Some economists argue that businesses will not discriminate in the job market because that would mean they could end up hiring less qualified people. This, in turn, would mean that their business operation would run less efficiently. Comment on this perspective based on course

readings and the issues we discussed in class.

U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2015 was $17.9 trillion dollars. If you divide that GDP figure by U.S. population of approximately 320 million, that generates a figure of GDP per capita (i.e. per person) of roughly $56,000. In what ways do you think that figure-per capita

GDP of $56,000-might or might not be an accurate reflection of average well-being in the United States today.
