Social learning theory and cognitive-behavioral theory

Problem:

Substance use is something that affects a lot of people from different backgrounds, especially people dealing with stress, trauma, mental health issues, or hard situations in life. A lot of times, it can start as someone trying to cope or escape from emotional pain, anxiety, peer pressure, or problems at home. Over time, that coping behavior can turn into dependence or addiction. I think understanding substance use takes looking at both the person and the environment around them.

Aside from Social Learning Theory and Cognitive-Behavioral Theory, suggest an additional theoretical lens that could deepen understanding of the behavior (systems theory, psychodynamic theory, social learning theory, cognitive-behavioral theory, humanistic-existential theory, conflict theory, strengths perspective, etc.). Identify one strength in the theoretical analysis and what thoughtful question we can ask to encourage critical thinking. Need Assignment Help?
