So out of all these steps which was did those individuals

Hi, I had to go to court to observe a case, either a pretrial hearing or felony trial. I am not sure what the process I observed is called. When I walked into the court room, there were serval people getting sworn in and pleading guilty or not guilty. They were in handcuffs and this process went very quick for each person. It took about 5-7 mins for each person and they were coming and going through that room where the prosector and DA talk. The question I have is what is this process called? For my class, my professor had us write down the step by step process of a felony trial and it is:

1)Arrest.

2) Charging.

3) Arrangement district court 1st appearance.

4) Preliminary hearing.

5) PC confessions and PC exam

6) Circuit court arraignment

7) Motions/Discovery/PTC.

8) Trial.

9) Sentence.

10) Appeal.

So out of all these steps, which was did those individuals got through that were pleading guilty or not guilty?
