Locate online and read the wall Street Journal article titled "Smile! Marketing Firms Are Mining Your Selfies."
You will need to exercise some creativity in getting access to the article. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) allows access to the article only by subscription. You do not want to spend money on subscribing to the WSJ, and there are multiple sites online that have reprinted the article such that it can be accessed for free. Locate any such site that provides access to the entire article, and read it. (Helpful hint: one such site is picturegenome.com).

Step 2-

Also locate and read a second Wall Street Journal article titled "'I Hate My Room,' The Traveler Tweeted. Ka-Boom! An Upgrade!" This article can be read in full for free, without a subscription. You can locate it with a Google title search.

Step 3-

After you have read the two articles, answer these questions:

Question 1: Summarize, in your own words, the different ways in which companies are using information gleaned from the internet to acquire customers, develop customers, and retain customers.

Question 2a: Name one other company that you think would be able to use information mined from the internet in its customer service initiatives. For this company, describe specific ways in which data mined off the internet could be used in their CRM operations.

Question 2b: Pick any company or organization unrelated to SUU. Contact someone in the company/organization and find out how they mine data from the internet to better serve their customers.
