Silviculture: It concerned with the cultivation of timber yielding plants. Silviculture is the way of controlling the growth, establishment, composition, health or quality of forests to meet diverse needs & values. The name silviculture comes from the Latin word silvi- means forest and culture as in growing. The study of forests or woods is called as silvology. Forest regeneration is the act of renewing tree cover from establishing young trees naturally & artificially, commonly promptly after the previous stand or forest has been removed.
The method, density or species are chosen to meet the aim of the landowner. Forest regeneration contains practices like as changes in tree plant density by human-assisted natural regeneration, reduced grazing, enrichment planting of forested savannas or changes in tree provenances or genetics & tree species. "Human-assisted the natural regeneration" its mean establishment of a forest age class from natural seeding and sprouting after harvesting by selection cutting, soil preparation, shelter or seed-tree harvest and restricting the size of a clear-cut stand to secure natural regeneration from surrounding trees. "Enrichment planting" means increasing the numbers of plants per hectare that is called planting density in an already growing forest stand.
