For liquid metals with a Prandtl number much less than unity, the velocity profile inside the thermal boundary layer on a flat plate may be assumed to be uniform, I.e. u= u infinity, v=0.

A. Show that the energy equation and the boundary conditions are analogous to those for unsteady conduction in a semi-infinite plate with a sudden change in the surface temperature.

B. Show that the local Nusselt number for this boundary layer flow is given by Nu=0.565(Re Pr) ^ 0.5.
