An electron moves in an uniform electric field directed along the x axis, and a uniform magnetic field along the y axis. It starts from rest at the origin. Show that it moves in a cycloidal path, and find the drift velocity, or the velocity of the center of the rolling circle along the z axis. If the electric field is 10^4 volts/cm and the magnetic field is 10^4 gausses, find the value of the drift velocity.
