Although Weber expressed admiration for Marx's analysis of capitalism, he also had serious points of disagreement, which, as Collins and Makowsky note, have been highlighted by some observers as Weber's attempt to refute Marx. Through a discussion of The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, show how Weber both agreed and disagreed with Marx. Does it appear that Weber was trying to refute Marx?
