Discussion Post: Scripts
We discuss scripts and their importance in the cognitive development of children during early childhood.
a) Reflect on your own childhood and consider some of the scripts that you learned during this time.
b) Share one of these scripts with us. What impact did this script have on you? Did it change over time or remain consistent?
c) Nelson claims that "having a script is one important factor that helps children, especially preschool children, perform at their best" (Galotti, 2017, p. 192). Do you agree or disagree? Explain your response.
