Several hundred students in a variety of introductory statistics courses at a large university were surveyed and asked to report their Math and Verbal SAT scores.
a. Math SAT scores of these students were significantly higher than the reported mean for the university. Can this be attributed to possible bias in the sampling process (these students were not representative in terms of their math skills), or bias in assessing the variable's values (some students "remembered" their scores to be higher than they actually were), or both?
b. Use software to report a 95% confidence interval for mean Math SAT score of the larger population of students from which the sample originated.
