Services and Products of Documentation and Information Centres:
All functions of documentation and information centres are performed with the objective of providing information services or products. Information products generally refer to the information packages provided in the form needed by users while information services refer to the identification and supply of specific information either against demand or in anticipation. It must, however, be noted that these expressions are mutually dependent and very often used together to denote a service. As mentioned, information products and services are offered either in response to or in anticipation of requests.
