Vision and hearing are distance senses and provide us with information and feedback about our environment. Without these senses movement in the world is difficult and unsafe. While we can simulate what it is like to have a sensory impairment, we can never truly understand how debilitating it is to lose one of these senses. Yet, people overcome the challenges presented through the loss of vision and hearing.
