Essay Assignment -
Write an essay in response to one of the topics below. Your essay should have at least 5 paragraphs, including Introduction and Conclusion.
You must make specific reference to the reading upon which the topic is based. You are encouraged to use quotation or paraphrase the article in your writing.
Your essay should include the following:
- Effective introduction
- Clearly stated main point (thesis)
- Effective discussion section of two or more paragraphs
- Effective conclusion
- Effective use of transitions as needed
- Effective organization
- Appropriate use of the reading upon which the exam topic is based, through paraphrase or quotation
- Effective proofreading
This exam is based on the reading "The Need to Read" by Will Schwalbe.
