Assignment:
1. Critically evaluate the role of CSR in the context of Corporate Governance, Firm Performance and Accountability. Develop your arguments with reference to relevant theories, academic research findings (SIX at a minimum, published recently in 2011-2016), real life examples (THREE at a minimum), governance documents (reports, codes recommendations, or regulations), practitioner's reports, speeches. Minimum 16 academic references (academic reports, journals or papers)
2. Make your own recommendations/suggestions in terms of how the mechanism could work better.
3. The essay should be logically structured. The essay should include a brief introduction and a conclusion/summary. Adding an appropriate amount of sub-headings is encouraged.
4. The essay should be no more than 2,000 words long. Citations in the texts are included in the word limit, while the bibliography list is NOT. Footnotes/Endnotes in the main text are allowed, which should be kept to the minimum (no more than 100 words in total) and are Not included in the word count. Figures, graphs, and appendices (no more than five in total) are NOT included in the word limit. Penalties for exceeding the word limit are: a 5% penalty for exceeding the word limit up to 10% and a further 0.5% deduction for every 1% exceeding the word limit.
5. References/sources should be properly cited in the text, with full bibliographies provided at the end of the essay. Harvard referencing be used.
