It is one of the factor associated with blood. In addition to ‘A', ‘B', ‘AB' and ‘O' groups, Rh factor test is also done in the blood.
People having Rh factor are known to be Rh+ and those who do not have are called Rh-. About 93% of the population in our country are Rh+ and the rest are Rh-.
If the Rh- blood is administered to Rh+ person, they develop antibodies against Rh-factor.
Production of antibodies against Rh factor is responsible for death of some of the newborn babies.
