Revisiting the Artful Autobiography
Over the past 5 weeks, we have explored the art and its history from the Renaissance through our own time. We have also investigated some of the rich artistic traditions of cultures outside of Europe in Africa, the Americans, China, Japan, and around the Pacific Rim. Through these explorations we have begun to see that not all objects are works of art and in fact there is a difference between a work of art, something that is an artistic expression, and an object that is the product of a creative endeavor.
For our final discussion, by Sunday, February 15, 2015, revisit the same object you used in your Artful Autobiography. Examine the object closely and discuss what style (or styles) we have studied that you see influencing this work of art. It is essential that you support your position for whatever claim you make, using the information presented in this course. ----The Autobiography subject is the SUN.
